How Partnership with Spur Impact Transformed Employee DevelopmentOpportunities at Epic Marketing

Nancy Dibert, CEO and founder of Epic Marketing Consultants Corporation, understands that business success relies heavily on employee satisfaction. At Epic, recruitment and retention are more than just buzzwords; they’re a core part of the company culture. Dibert sees her role as fostering the growth of every associate, believing that investing in employees’ individual journeys directly invests in the success of the business.

To support this belief, Epic Marketing partnered with Spur Impact, offering employees a range of professional development opportunities that have led to significant individual achievements. These include attending and planning the MillSummit conference, volunteering on the Health in High Heels organizing committee, and completing the Spur Leaders Network board training (formerly

ELC).

“Partnering with Spur Impact has been a win-win,” Dibert said. “Our employees have gained valuable skills and grown their networks, and I’ve noticed how their community involvement has left them with a deeper sense of purpose.”

Epic Marketing, an SBA-certified small business and woman-owned marketing company based in Middletown, Delaware, understands the value of community engagement. As a full-service marketing and advertising agency, Epic blends traditional, digital, and social media to create contemporary business solutions for clients in Delaware and beyond, including those in the financial sector, state agencies, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

By empowering associates to expand their perspectives and pursue their passions, Dibert believes businesses create more engaged and sustained employees. Since this commitment deepened, particularly through the strategic involvement with Spur Impact, two Epic associates have joined nonprofit boards, and a third has taken on greater leadership roles through volunteer work.

“I firmly believe in empowering talent, not containing it,” Dibert said. She emphasized the importance of understanding each individual’s unique path and providing tailored support, whether through traditional education, targeted conferences, or one-on-one mentorship.

Early or mid-career professionals at other organizations may cite lack of time afforded by employers to pursue volunteering or professional development as a road block. From a strategic perspective, Dibert called such hesitation “a tactical error.” In her mind, business leaders should not hesitate to support their employees’ involvement in nonprofit or community initiatives. Volunteering provides a sense of appreciation and value, as well as strengthens business networks and communities.

Dibert advised other business leaders to “start small” when engaging their teams in community work. She stressed that passion is key, and encouraging staff to find something they are genuinely passionate about is more effective than a company-wide initiative dictated from the top down.

“Empowering associates to broaden their horizons and perspectives through professional development, community engagement, and even nonprofit leadership fosters a more engaged workforce,” Dibert said. “Epic Marketing has seen this firsthand through our partnership with Spur Impact, and it has not only enhanced our team’s skills but deepened our business’ connection to Delaware communities.”
