Get on Board: Spur Service event is a one-day, in-person program designed to help train and connect current and aspiring leaders eager to make a meaningful difference in their community through nonprofit board service. With expert-led sessions and interactive workshops, you'll gain the skills, connections, and confidence needed to effectively lead and serve on a nonprofit board. Are you ready to amplify your impact in your community while growing your professional skills and connections? Spur Impact’s Get on Board: Spur Leadership is a dynamic, immersive experience designed to prepare you for meaningful nonprofit board service in Delaware.

Program Purpose

Joining a nonprofit board is a unique opportunity to contribute to your community’s success while enhancing your leadership abilities and expanding your professional network. In alignment with Spur Impact’s pillars of Spur Connection, Spur Leadership, and Spur Giving, this program connects passionate individuals with nonprofits seeking dedicated board members.

This program, built by a Delaware nonprofit for Delaware nonprofits, focuses on:

  • Building a talent pipeline for nonprofit boards of directors.

  • Supporting nonprofits with tailored onboarding and refresher courses for board members.

Our Goals

  1. Expand the pool of board-ready talent and create strategic matches with nonprofits.

  2. Inspire community engagement and support for nonprofit missions.

  3. Train emerging leaders to thrive on nonprofit boards.

The Plan

This program provides hands-on training, guided by subject matter experts, in a supportive environment for participants. Upon completion, participants can be matched with a nonprofit board that aligns with their skills, interests, and goals.
