Sunset Bridge Corporation: Creating a Peaceful Haven for Families with Support from Do More 24 Delaware

Nonprofits like Sunset Bridge Corporation (SBC) demonstrate the transformative impact of community-driven initiatives such as Do More 24 Delaware, a 24-hour day of giving designed to empower nonprofits to raise funds and expand their donor base. SBC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to creating a compassionate haven for families navigating the complexities of end-of-life care. Though not yet operational, SBC is already fulfilling its mission by providing free consultative services and envisioning a future where terminally ill individuals and their loved ones can come together in a peaceful setting to make critical decisions. Through participation in Do More 24 DE, SBC has harnessed the support of generous donors and organizations like Spur Impact, turning their vision of a kinder end-of-life experience into a shared community goal.

To gain insight into how Terri Sarisky, President and Founder of SBC, successfully leveraged Do More 24 DE and Spur Impact, we met with her to ask some questions:

Q: How has Spur Impact made a difference in your organization?

A: Spur Impact has been an amazing partner for SBC. We came to know each other in January of 2024 and made an immediate connection. Spur Impact has helped us with networking, and the opportunity to participate in Do More 24 DE, the Delaware Difference Makers, and the Emerging Leaders Community (ELC). All have been extremely helpful and rewarding.

Q: What was it like to participate in Do More 24 DE?

A: Extremely exciting in every way! From the help in preparation, to the countdown before and during, the kick-off, the companies participating, the businesses supporting, the visibility of our company, and the networking! We have never been part of a 24-hour event like this, so we had no idea what to expect. Every minute was pure fun and heartwarming. It was so awesome to have the live interviews of many of the companies participating as well.

Q: In what ways has your organization grown since partnering with Do More 24 DE?

A: We have learned so much about fundraising. The playbook, which Jenn (Jennifer Saienni, Director of Nonprofit Engagement at Spur Impact) has created and shared, along with all of the other marketing materials are directly transferable to other events/fundraising.

Q: Have you made any valuable connections through Do More 24 DE that you would like to share?

A: We have learned more about the other non-profit companies in Delaware, some of which we can potentially partner with once we are operational.

Q: What is it like to work with the Spur Impact team?

A: Fun, informative and always exciting. The team is extremely responsive and helpful! They make everyone feel special, and truly seek to help in every way! We have learned so much from the Spur Impact Team.
