Through hands-on internships, university partnerships, AmeriCorps, and opportunities like our Do More 24 Delaware Social Media Ambassador (SMA) Program, we connect students and emerging professionals with meaningful experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
From developing professional skills and building confidence to working directly with nonprofit leaders and contributing to real-world projects, our emerging leadership opportunities have been empowering individuals to grow while making a difference in the communities around them! By investing in the next generation of talent, Spur Impact is helping to create stronger nonprofits, more connected communities, and future leaders prepared to make an impact.
Our Emerging Leadership Pathways
AmeriCorps Marketing & Community Engagement Hub: Serve Delaware’s nonprofit sector through 300 to 1,700-hour service terms. Gain real-world experience, earn a living stipend, and receive an AmeriCorps Education Award while expanding digital outreach for local causes.
Do More 24 Delaware Social Media Ambassadors (SMA): Lead digital fundraising strategy, build high-visibility campaigns, and manage social channels for the state’s largest giving day.
Internships & University Partnerships: Collaborate on hands-on project management, event production (such as the Spur Impact Leadership Summit), and executive-level nonprofit operations.

Spur Impact has hosted and supported AmeriCorps members through dedicated capacity-building roles in marketing, outreach, and community engagement. Members earn living stipends and education awards while delivering measurable support to Delaware nonprofits.

Emerging digital strategists lead high-visibility campaigns for major statewide initiatives, including DoMore24DE. Ambassadors gain hands-on experience in content creation, campaign analytics, and digital fundraising for diverse cause areas.

Academic & Capstone Partnerships (MIS, English, & Humanities)
We partner with university students on real-world capstone projects, strategic writing initiatives, and technical deliverables. Student teams apply their classroom knowledge to optimize digital platforms, develop critical documentation, and create impactful messaging that supports Spur Impact and our nonprofit partners.

Interns work alongside executive leadership on key organizational workflows, from talent acquisition and financial analysis to multi-channel communication strategies. These positions offer portfolio-building responsibilities that extend far beyond entry-level tasks.

Spur Impact team members bring real-world industry insights directly into university classrooms. Through custom lectures, panel discussions, and interactive workshops, we connect academic concepts with practical nonprofit and community leadership experience.
