Announcing the Spur Impact Leadership Summit

MillSummit Rebrands to Emphasize Driving Tangible Change

The annual MillSummit Leadership Conference—Spur Impact’s cornerstone event for leadership development and community engagement in Delaware and the region—announced its official rebranding as the Spur Impact Leadership Summit.

This new name and branding was fittingly revealed during the 9th annual conference, themed “Defining Your Next,” held in Wilmington, Del. on Aug. 5.

“This name change is more than just a rebrand; it is a reaffirmation of our core purpose: to spur tangible impact through innovative leadership. No matter where you are on your personal or professional journey, we believe that you have the capacity to speak up and get involved,” said Charlie Vincent, executive director of Spur Impact.

For nearly a decade, the MillSummit has brought together emerging leaders and professionals and encouraged their growth. The rebranding signifies a pivotal moment in the conference’s history, moving beyond its foundational identity to embrace a broader, more action-oriented mandate. The “Spur Impact” moniker underscores a dedication to actively catalyze meaningful contributions across various sectors.

This isn't the first time the conference has adapted. In 2020 and 2021, the conference evolved to reflect the virtual workplace and encourage cross-generational collaboration. In transitioning to Spur Impact Leadership Summit, the nonprofit once again demonstrates its expanded vision and unwavering commitment to empowering individuals and organizations.

“Our commitment to providing impactful experiences and developing leaders remains stronger than ever,” added Jennifer Saienni, director of nonprofit engagement at Spur Impact. “With this name change, attendees will discover even more opportunities to connect, learn, and grow, ultimately achieving greater milestones in their own leadership journeys."

Earlier this year, the Spur Impact board and Epic Marketing Consultants Corporation began work reconceptualizing the conference’s identity. Together, the group collaborated diligently on this rebrand, identifying the new name and creating a new logo.

Featuring three interlocking mountains, the new logo is bold, dynamic, and forward looking. In addition to symbolizing growth, challenge, achievement, the three peaks also serve to reference the three pillars of the Spur Impact nonprofit: Spur Giving, Spur Leadership, and Spur Connection.

Through these three pillars, Spur Impact's initiatives collectively raise millions for Delaware nonprofits each year and have been informative in helping to develop the next generation of leaders of many public, private, nonprofit, and government organizations.

“We at Epic are incredibly proud to have partnered with Spur Impact on this rebranding initiative,” said Nancy Dibert, CEO of Epic Marketing Consultants Corporation. “Having seen firsthand how both the MillSummit and Spur Impact’s other initiatives have contributed to the leadership development of our own team; we truly believe in the mission and are thrilled to help usher in this exciting new chapter.”

Although the brand and name are evolving, attendees of the newly named Spur Impact Leadership Summit can continue to expect the high-caliber content, expert speakers, and unparalleled networking opportunities that have defined the event for years.

“If you are a visionary or innovator who is moving the needle in Delaware or across the region, we want you to join us at the Spur Impact Leadership Summit next August,” said Vincent.

The date and location for the next Spur Impact Leadership Summit will be announced soon. Until then, follow Spur Impact and Spur Summit on social media for updates and more information.
