How DoMore24 Delaware Transformed Fundraising for Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research
Autumn Reiter, Executive Director of the Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research organization met with us to discuss how Spur Impact has made a positive impact on the organization. The Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research organization is a wild bird clinic for native wild birds. Anyone who finds an injured or orphaned bird can call the organization and organize a pickup or drop off. Prior to working with Spur Impact, their main vehicle for fundraising appeals was through direct mail. After participating in Do More 24 Delaware, they realized that they could successfully include digital strategies as a part of their fundraising plans. Since seeing the success from participating in Do More 24 Delaware, the Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research nonprofit has been able to increase their capacity in many ways!
Do More 24 Delaware is Delaware’s largest giving day! After Reiter learned about the event from her marketing team, she thought this would be a great opportunity to rally support and spark interest. The event uses the Delaware Gives™ online platform to facilitate donations; this allows nonprofits and donors to track how much is raised over the 24 hour giving day. At Do More 24 Delaware, the Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research nonprofit had 132 donations and raised over their goal! Do More 24 Delaware gave them the confidence they needed to step into the digital space. “Spur Impact really provided us with a resource for to see the potential for us to raise money digitally,” mentioned Reiter. She continued saying that the event inspired a new sense of enthusiasm for fundraising that they had not tapped into before.
With a newfound confidence, they began planning ways to incorporate digital strategies to strategically plan fundraising. Additionally, their team began participating in Spur Impact’s webinars and in-person training sessions. “This has infused our team with a lot of ideas, creativity, initiative, and motivation,” remarked Reiter. Spur Impact has proudly been able to provide the Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research organization with various resources to help propel them forward.
“My favorite part about Spur Impact is the value of the training and education that they provide. There is not one thing that I have not found value in. I can’t get enough of what Spur Impact is doing! We would not be where we are or see our future so clearly, without Spur Impact,” concluded Reiter.
