Through Spur Impact's Marketing Capacity Building Program, AmeriCorps Members work directly with Delaware nonprofits to strengthen their marketing, communications, outreach, and community engagement efforts. Members gain real-world experience while helping nonprofits expand their impact and connect with the communities they serve.

Service opportunities range from 300-hour part-time positions to 1,700-hour full-time service terms, providing flexible options for students, emerging professionals, career changers, and individuals looking to give back to their communities. Members receive a living allowance while serving and may also be eligible for an AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of their service term. Whether you're seeking a full-time service experience or a part-time opportunity that fits alongside school or work, there are pathways designed to meet you where you are.

Members may support social media strategy, content creation, community outreach, volunteer engagement, storytelling, event promotion, and communications planning while gaining valuable professional development and leadership experience.

As the AmeriCorps program administrator, Spur Impact provides training, support, and ongoing guidance while members serve with nonprofit host organizations across Delaware.

  • AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance funded through the national service program. Living allowances are based on hours served.

  • Receive the Segal Education Award to repay qualified student loans or pay current or future educational expenses at eligible institutions of higher education and training programs. Schools of National Service may offer additional educational benefits upon acceptance to their programs.

  • AmeriCorps alumni are top-tier candidates for future employment opportunities. Employers of National Service connect alumni with employers from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. You may also receive special consideration for employment with the federal government.

  • AmeriCorps members may receive living allowances, housing stipends, supplemental health insurance, travel reimbursement, food assistance, developmental training, networking opportunities, and more during their service term.

Application Process

  1. Apply
    Complete the application through the My AmeriCorps portal. Once you create an account, you can search for opportunities in Delaware and select the Spur Impact listing to apply.

  2. Interview & Information Session
    We’ll connect with you to schedule a conversation and determine if the program is the right fit for you.

  3. Onboarding
    Once accepted, you’ll move through our onboarding process, which includes a background check.

  4. Launch
    Members are matched with nonprofit partners, and together we begin preparing and running outreach campaigns.
